Patriot Perfection

I have often said the only place for “perfect” is in business.

This year's Super Bowl-winning team is a business fueled by perfection. Today’s sports teams are playing an interesting game off the field. You'll often hear terms like “moneyball," salary cap space, luxury taxes, and so on. Teams need better finance departments than the actual product on the field. Yet through it all, the New England Patriots are run to absolute perfection. It starts with the owner, the front office... and then the coach, the quarterback, and a revolving cast of players over the years.

Can you imagine if your company, your division, or your office were run to that level of excellence. Who wouldn't love to experience that? Love the Pats or hate them, you have to admire and applaud that level of achievement. Those of you that know me have heard me often say, “sometimes getting there is the easy part; staying at the top is very difficult." And that's the New England Patriots organization.

I'm not sure if we will ever see something like this team again in our lives, so take a minute to examine, analyze, and appreciate this team like the work of art it is. It is to be admired and celebrated.

Thank God it’s baseball season.
